Reimagining the Expedia Rewards experience required me to consider how the visual language and design system could reflect the program’s purpose — making loyalty feel intuitive, exciting, and personal. Every element, from color choices to progress indicators, was crafted to create a cohesive and rewarding experience that felt fresh, motivating, and seamlessly integrated across platforms.

The Expedia Rewards iconography needed to feel instantly recognizable and emotionally resonant, something that would spark excitement around travel and loyalty. The rewards badge became a symbol of progress, possibility, and personalization. It’s simple, celebratory, and shareable, much like collecting stamps on a passport. And let’s be honest, has anyone not felt a little thrill when unlocking a perk or reaching a new tier? As you’ll see below, the answer is unequivocally no.

Colors

Reimagining the Expedia Rewards experience required me to consider how the look and feel of the brand could better reflect the value and excitement of earning travel rewards. The goal was to design a visual language that felt fresh, intuitive, and purpose-driven, one that would make users feel confident and inspired as they engaged with the loyalty program.

The updated typographic logo and color system needed to strike a balance between trust and delight, supporting both transactional clarity and emotional resonance. That’s why the refreshed palette draws inspiration from themes of exploration, achievement, and progression, using deep navy for stability, gold for tiered elevation and reward, and clean white space for clarity and accessibility.
